Adams Okoene, Chairman
Currently a Non-executive Board member of Midwestern Oil and Gas, one of Nigeria’s premier indigenous companies, Engr. Okoene is a 1970 alumnus of the University of Technology, Loughborough, UK. He is a Chartered Engineer of the United Kingdom and a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
John P. Heugh, Executive Vice-Chairman
John is the Executive Vice-Chairman of PetroAfrique and is also the Chairman of Nigerian focused AfroHawk Energy Plc and Gryphon Mining and Energy Pty Ltd. He is a 40 year veteran of the Australian and international oil and mining sectors and until recently was the MD of ASX listed Oilco Central Petroleum Limited, operating one of the world’s largest E and P portfolios of over 70 million acres in the harsh desert terrain of central Australia.
Martin Trachsel, Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director
Martin has over 35 years’ international experience in the Exploration and Production, Natural Gas and Trading sectors including in Shell where in his last position he was Vice President Middle East – Gulf for Shell International Gas and Power responsible for gas business development in the Gulf Region.
Martin has joined PetroAfrique after 5 years as CEO of SAPETRO, one of Nigeria’s premier oil companies where he managed SAPETRO’s Joint Venture with Total, Petrobras and CNOOC in the Akpo, Egina Main, Egina South and Preowei fields and its 100% operating position in the Republic of Benin.
Hussein M Wada, Non Executive Director
Hussein is a qualified engineer with a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Christian Brothers University In Tennessee and he is currently undertaking an MSc in Major Programme Management from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
Felecia Kemi Segun, Non Executive Director
Kemi Segun is a Senior Partner in the Energy and Project Finance Group of the Nigerian law firm ACAS-LAW and serves as a Non-executive Director on the Board of SASOL-Chevron Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of the multi-billion dollar Sasol-Chevron Joint Venture, operators of the Escravos GTL project.
Dr Suleiman M Awwal-Non-executive Director
Dr Suleiman is an oil and gas professional whose experience spans both the private sector and academic pursuits. He started his career at Shell Petroleum Development Company Nigeria (SPDC) before taking up a position with Saudi Aramco in Riyadh, and later as an instructor in Chemical Engineering in King Fahah University Riyadh.
Philip O J Tracy-Non-executive Nominee Director
A 40 year veteran of the international oilfield and associated industries, Phil is currently a Non-executive Director with Cameroon focused Bowleven Plc and was previously Operations Director at Board level with Cairn Energy, largely responsible for transforming the startup company in India to a multi-billion listed corporate heavyweight with successful gas and oil discoveries, exploitation and dealings with IOCs.
